It’s been a while since I’ve seen Emma Stone on the red carpet but it’s no surprise that she was with Team Louis Vuitton given her relationship with the house.
She chose a white slip dress for the Met Gala, which some are describing as flapper (which was not part of the gilded era for the theme). Beyond that, the headline is that it’s a dress she wore on her wedding weekend and this is the first time the public is seeing it, which gives it some fashion weight.

Objectively, this dress is doing the least. Great for dancing the night away at a party and for her personal style, but the details don’t pop on a red carpet. Still, it’s sentimental and even though it’s not a gilded standout, it will be remembered because celebrities don’t often wear one of their wedding dresses on a red carpet.
I’m glad Emma showed up because she’s a movie star and what are these events if the top tier celebrities don’t go? I don’t want to see a TikTok convention. She also gave us some sweet gossip nostalgia with Kieran Culkin (they dated way back in 2010). Now they are both married now and probably showed each other photos of their babies.
Next up is Hailey Bieber in Saint Laurent and sorry to inform the haters, but I love this look. The silk dress alone would have been too little, but she added the right styling details without turning it into a costume. I love the black pantyhose with open toe shoes and that the way the dramatic feather duster takes up space behind and around her. She told Vogue her inspiration was Jerry Hall, who was not part of the gilded age but is so glamorous that it fits. Hailey looks like a young widow who came into a large oil fortune after her elderly husband’s mysterious death. Very chic but a little aloof too.
