Exactly two years ago this week, Sophie Turner was in Paris for Fashion Week in her capacity as Louis Vuitton ambassador.
Joe Jonas was with her in the front row.
Almost exactly a year ago, they were together at the Vanity Fair Oscar party, and no one could have predicted that five months later Joe would file for divorce, while Sophie was working on a new project, and imply that she was an absent parent.
Now that they’ve sorted out their breakup and custody, Sophie is back at Paris Fashion Week, this time with her new boyfriend, the hilariously named Peregrine Pearson. Just as photos of Sophie and Peregrine were making their way around, Joe Jonas turned up in Australia kissing his new girlfriend Stormi Bree while on break from tour. Joe and Stormi’s relationship was made public in January.
So in just over six months we’ve gone from arguing over who was the sh-ttier spouse and parent to who’s more in love after divorce. Is it a competition? Maybe not intentionally, maybe it really is coincidence but I do enjoy this… rebound-off that’s playing out, whether they mean for it or not.
But let’s round out this couples update with a much less dramatic one: Chilli and Matthew Lawrence! It’s the love story for Gen X and Millennials going on two years now. And, from what I’ve seen, a love story that’s universally popular. Everybody loves their love!
