The Friday Night Lights cast reunited at ATX TV Festival, with a performance by Crucifictorious.

Kyle Chandler also revealed that shortly after his Emmy win, he was approached about a movie and immediately turned it down. His reasoning makes sense – this show is beloved now but when it aired it was constantly on the bubble of cancellation, season two was cut short by the writer’s strike, tons of cast turnover (which made sense narratively, but isn’t easy to pull off). It was really a moment in time.

Gossip is a little slow right now (which means we’ll have a fruitful summer) so Summer House is dominating the headlines.

I have a generational question that came up from the reunion: location sharing with friends. I don’t share my location with anyone and I don’t have anyone else’s location. If I did, there would need to be a reason for it and it would be temporary. But I noticed “sharing locations” is brought up a lot on reality TV. Is this common? (Lainey: I share location with my husband, permanently. And when we’re travelling together, my friends and I will do the same. I will also do it here and there when we’re all meeting up somewhere. The reason: I live my life like I’m an heiress who might be kidnapped at any moment, not kidding.)

Charli XCX’s new album cover with Martin Scorsese, John Cale and Marc Jacobs, obviously a flex. Did Francesca explain Brat to her dad.

Backrooms is a massive surprise hit and the director is a YouTuber named Kane Parsons who was born in 2005. The development of this project is incredibly interesting (it essentially came from horror fanfic). A24 took a big chance on a 20-year-old director and it cost $10 million to produce and has passed the $100 million mark. On top of that is the financial success, it has captured an elusive audience: teenagers. Executives are constantly citing attention spans as a problem, trying to say Gen Z (and Gen A) have given up on movies. In Gen Z’s defense, a lot of movies are too long! Maybe they just need more directors who speak their language.

Wait, I had no idea Mel B’s husband was such a hottie.
