For over a decade, we’ve been rhapsodising about a cream knit sweater here at LaineyGossip. And it remains the standard by which all cream knit sweaters are judged, Maria and I message each other about it at least three times a year, and every winter for sure. It was first worn by Gwyneth Paltrow in 2011 and she showed up in it again in 2016 - the sweater is Celine, and while others have come close, no other, in my opinion, has been able to match how perfect it is.

Not even the one GP herself was wearing yesterday in New York while shooting a commercial for Goop and Polestar with Chloe Fineman. Over the years, they’ve tried to replicate the Best Sweater at G Lable by Goop, and this is the one she’s modelling here, but it’s not quite it. What made the Celine so special was the roll high neck, the flap front, and the way the material itself seemed so durable, resistant to wear and tear but also flexible and comfortable.

In other Gwyneth news, she tried the Suspect Challenge the other day. Here’s an explainer if you aren’t up on it. And this is one of the more popular Suspect Challenges.

The point is, the “suspect details” are embarrassing. I saw another one where the girlfriend says that the boyfriend “sharted two times in the last week”. There’s no other way to spin that – sharting is mortifying, period.

Which is why Gwyneth f-cking sucks at it. Because, well, watch for yourself:

Guilty as charged. #suspectchallenge

This is bullsh-t. It is not the equivalent of sharting. It is, rather, a FLEX. Dating successful and wealthy men? Kissing the biggest movie star of his generation? How is this the same? It’s not the same, but it is so Gwyneth. That what she considers humiliating is everyone else’s best day ever.
