I’m not trying to get into a fight. I’m sure the people who live in all the cities where BTS is stopping on their ARIRANG world tour feel like they are favoured because that is BTS’s gift – to give everything they have to the crowd at each and every show so that they all come away from the experience feeling seen. RM, Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook have always been thoughtful and considerate performers that way. It’s just that… well… here in Toronto we think we earned a little extra, LOL.

We endured a freezing, torrential hours-long downpour on night one, and we were subsequently awarded on night two with something that hadn’t happened outside of Korea: sub-unit surprise songs, “Zero O’Clock” and “Outro Tear”, which aren’t just any sub-unit tracks but two of the most meaningful considering when they were written and what they were written about. If you know, you know. WE WON.

But last week Toronto was blessed again when they announced that Run BTS 2.0, their variety series, will return with two episodes filmed in Toronto. The first episode drops tomorrow. That’s how much they enjoyed their time in the city, they went out to eat, go shopping, they were on the water, and they’re formalising that favouritism in the form of their show!

And the favouring continued today when RM’s Niagara Falls Vlog was released. This isn’t just six minutes of RM and his friends and colleagues going on the Maiden of the Mist, he was also doing the most Toronto thing possible – navigating our commuter routes, LOL, the Gardiner, the Queen Elizabeth Way, and the Burlington Skyway from the Greater Toronto core to the Niagara region.

RM is a relatively new-ish driver, famous in the fandom for being the last to get his licence. And honestly, I can say this as a Toronto native, he was attempting an advanced-level route. There is construction, narrow lanes, quick turnoffs, people merging crazy, so many trucks. Toronto is globally notorious now for its traffic problem and while he may not have been driving at peak rush hour, it’s never not a f-cking pain in the ass. Which is why it was both hysterical and triggering to see him make this face at one point, I’m crying…

Back to my original point though… Toronto is favoured! They love us so much! We won again!

What else happened today…

The Social Reckoning premiere in New York City – and Jeremy Strong showed up in a windbreaker that is probably very, very expensive. (Go Fug Yourself)

Olivia Colman looked so good on the Miu Miu runway. (Pajiba)

Kim Kardashian talks about childcare – she has a lot of help and she can afford a lot of help and probably this isn’t surprising to anyone? (Celebitchy)

Oh I will read the sh-t out of this: The Gospel of Buddy Garrity, FNL hive I know you’re out there! (The Ringer)

I hate Halloween and I will spend the rest of the month telling you this BUT… as much as I hate Halloween, I do love a quiz, especially one that tells me based on my answers to Halloween questions “which lesbian Halloween decoration” I am. The answer is: mini gourds. Yes, that’s exactly right. (Autostraddle)
