I’ve already posted this week about Nicholas Hoult, now blonde, and how into him I am, blonde or not blonde, but the blonde is working. It’s working so well that… is he, the villain, eclipsing the hero?
Nicholas, David Corenswet, and Rachel Brosnahan were at the Superman premiere in London and various other promotional appearances. Here’s Nick, wearing the sh-t out of this Bottega Veneta suit. I love that the jacket is slightly boxy, the loose fit of the pants, and of course that punk hair.

Meanwhile, Superman David in his red bow tie…it’s giving Superman, no doubt, but that’s also kinda my issue with Superman, LOL. Is he sexy?!

Maybe that’s unfair. Maybe Superman doesn’t have to be sexy. But I’m out here thirsting hard for the actor who plays the villain, you know? And it speaks to Sarah’s larger point that she’s been addressing for months now as we approach the release of this movie – that there’s been so much focus on Krypto the dog, and now people like me are all about Nicholas Hoult’s hotness… will they be able to establish Superman/Clark Kent as the main character?
But enough about Superman, let’s get back to Nicholas, because here he is at the photo call in Burberry …

and this is now a streak, he is serving look after look after look and it feels new and fresh. Which is usually the sign of a new stylist. And, indeed, he has one. The person should not surprise you: Jason Bolden does it again. We saw what he did with Nicole Kidman, and so many others (Michael B Jordan, Cynthia Erivo etc etc) and now he’s applied his magic touch to Nicholas. The results have been immediate. Nicholas is clearly feeling himself.
Styling is a professional asset. Nicholas Hoult is about to take his career to the next level. As Lex Luthor, one of the most recognisable comic book villains of all time – he knows it’s his time. He’s confident in his performance, he knows how much the audience is anticipating this performance. And to accessorise his performance, he’s working with Jason Bolden on this press tour to make sure his fits complement his work, amplify his work, bring attention to his work. This is a great investment. A career investment. It’s paying off already.
