Season four of The Bear is out and I’ve skimmed some reviews but I need an experienced TV watcher to tell me the truth: worth it, or just let it drop out of rotation?

Sarah covered the celebrity escape from Venice, it’s like a barefoot walk of shame down Las Vegas Boulevard but minus the fun. You just know this wedding was an absolute snooze, with everyone standing around talking about how “fun” it is while looking around to see who’s looking at them. And you know how I know? The relentless themes: the pre-wedding foam party, the post-wedding pajama party. It’s a way of putting a bunch of personality-deficient adults in a room and mimicking a good time.

Well now we’ve seen the dress… I predicted Dolce & Gabbana. Of course it has a lace high neck and a sweetheart bustier and buttons and a mermaid cut and a long veil. The maximalism is directly ripped off from Sophia Lauren by someone trying to cosplay gravitas. 

I was a little off on the guest list  (partially); I thought Eva Longoria would attend but she is in Spain, reportedly filming her CNN show. Relatively close but couldn’t make it? Hmmmm. I wasn’t expecting Jessica Alba but seeing as who else made the cut (multiple members of the LA mommy mafia including Sara Foster, Jamie Mizrahi and Jennifer Meyer), it makes sense. Nothing says “I’m so happy to be at this wedding” like completely avoiding posting or naming the bride and groom.

Ferdinando Caraceni was a renowned Italian tailor who worked into his 80s, with clients all over the world. He made Yves Saint Laurent’s suits! After he passed, his atelier was taken over by his daughter Nicoletta. (If you have time today, read her interview on why she closed it in 2024) Jeff Bezos hurt her.

You know who was in Italy but didn’t attend the wedding? Colman Domingo. And of course the fit is top tier.

Paul Walter Hauser has been asked to join the Academy and now I want to read up on the process because it looks like you need references, like a job interview? His were Ron Perlman and Lou Diamond Philipps. I also see Kieran Culkin on the list and had assumed that if you get a nomination or win, you are automatically in. Sarah can explain this to me. 

This article is nearly a month old but I caught up on And Just Like That… yesterday (sadism) and it reminded me of it. Has Carrie lost her fashion magic? I think Carrie has lost her whole personality, her curly hair, her writing, her insight into relationships. The most recent episodes also revealed her to be an extremely stingy and ungracious host. She has huge house (for NYC, a mansion!) and counting her bottles of Coke. Where does Carrie shop, the one yogurt, one banana store?
