Earlier today, Jennifer Lopez shared a new post on the grid in support of Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, who’s been her producing partner for several years now but started off as her agent. When Elaine was at William Morris and later ICM, she worked with Julia Roberts, Madonna, and other big names in the business. She is an experienced industry player and she and JLo eventually turned their friendship into partnership to great success over the years. 

 

Through all her marriages and boyfriends and friendships, Elaine has been the most constant, since 1998. And while most people bring up Benny Medina, her manager, and it’s true that she and Benny have been working together a long time, they did split up for a couple of years there in the mid-2000s. Elaine’s been at her side the whole time. And vice versa. 

 

Here’s JLo promoting Elaine’s new novel, Climbing in Heels. 

 

The book has already been optioned for development by Darren Star and it’s inspired by everything that Elaine has seen and experienced working in Hollywood. Per Page Six:

“In one scene from the book, a male assistant is allowed to listen in on his boss having sex with actresses auditioning for a role.

“That was a story I had heard from a trainee who was allowed to listen in as his boss,” Goldsmith-Thomas recalled. “That was his bonus … his little treat. His boss let him listen in as he f–ked actresses.”

It was Lopez who pushed her pal to write, and the actress has been promoting the book with Goldsmith-Thomas.

“Not only did she give me a green light, but it was really ‘Shame on you for not doing this. This is what you wanna be and what you want to do,'” the producer said of her famous pal.”

 

Climbing in Heels is out today. A bit too early for a beach read but it might be a good Mother’s Day gift if you know a mom who is a gossip. 

As for JLo, she’s back in New Jersey, working on Office Romance with Brett Goldstein. This is standard for her, don’t stop won’t stop. She was just in Saudi Arabia, flirting with Lewis Hamilton and performing at the F1 concert, which she would have had to be in rehearsals for. While shooting this movie for the last few weeks. While planning her own tour. The men they come and go, but this bitch never quits.
