In a post about Lewis Hamilton last month, I ended on a wish for the Gossip Genie. A member of The Squawk, our Substack community, had mentioned that Lewis talked about shooting his shot with Jennifer Lopez at the Met Gala once, telling her he’d been in love with her forever and since her husband wasn’t there that night, Lewis decided to leave an impression. 

 

 

Now that JLo no longer has a husband, the Gossip Genie was asked to make this happen, to remind JLo that this happened and deliver accordingly for us and also for Lewis. 

 

This weekend the Gossip Genie heard the prayer. 

JLo was scheduled, alongside Usher and Major Razer, to headline the F1’s post-race concert this weekend. So it’s not like she was there just to see Lewis. This was also sort of a warmup for her upcoming summer tour, Up All Night: Live 2025 in the Middle East and Europe. 

 

Still, she showed up in the paddock to make a splash. This hot pink body suit, LOL FOREVER. But also, like, on theme, right? You could argue that what JLo’s wearing is a racing suit, her version of it anyway. Our girl is trying to be aerodynamic, OK?! 

 

Is it a stunt? Of course and obviously. JLo is single and it’s been the longest stretch of single for her in years, literally years. She was hanging in Lewis’s team garage. What’s the point of being there if not to pull all the focus?! 

 

As for whether or not she and Lewis sparked something that we can keep talking about… would it be too greedy to ask the Gossip Genie for more? 

The Met Gala is two weeks from today. Lewis is one of the co-chairs. JLo is a frequent guest at the event, last year she was one of the co-chairs. Maybe… they can go together? For a girl who often, um, downgrades after a divorce, Lewis would not be trending in that direction. Lewis Hamilton is the ultimate upgrade.
