Timmy: A second row sweep
I was just saying in my post yesterday about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce in Cleveland for game three of the NBA Eastern Conference that the Knicks are on a tear – at the time riding a 10-game win streak through the playoffs, after a previous series sweep, and now it’s an 11-game win streak and back-to-back series sweeps; they’re going to the NBA Finals while OKC and San Antonio continue their bloodbath in a series that could very well go the distance.
The Knicks come with their own celebrity entourage, many of them travelled to Cleveland in the hopes of seeing their team secure their spot in the Finals. And most, if not all, probably thought they had courtside seats for the game… only to find out later that since they’re Knicks fans, the Cavs would not be giving them the best seats in the house. Spike Lee was in the fourth row. Tracy Morgan was in the second row. And so were Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner. This, in my opinion, is not off-side. If the Raptors were in contention right now, I would send the New York fans off the court too. And in hindsight, none of the celebrity Knicks fans are complaining this morning since they got the result they want. Look at Tracy Morgan crying tears of joy.

And then there’s Timmy, the most fanboy of all fanboys, like a kid who’s been cast in a Wheaties commercial with his biggest hero, looking up and telling him that, “You’re the champ, Mike!” The overuse of the word “bro” in our current timeline is a source of permanent cringe for me.

That said, I can’t begrudge someone for losing their cool, literally, when their sports team advances. Most of us who follow sport have been there. Here in Toronto – and many parts of Canada – it was like this last fall when our beloved Blue Jays were in the World Series and it went to game seven and lost extra innings… I WILL NEVER GET OVER THIS, EVER! Not being hyperbolic either. Those few weeks are burned into my whole personality. Even now, every few days, I feel a wave of sadness, followed by affection, then sadness, then gratitude, then sadness again, then warm nostalgia when I’ll just be walking past the Dome on my way home on the train, remember what it was like. So for Spike and Tracy and Timmy and the Knicks faithful, it doesn’t matter right now if the internet is laughing or whatever, not when your team just emphatically claimed its place in the final two.
We can, however, gossip about the Timmy and Kylie situation.

She’s now been to several Knicks games and several Knicks wins. Nobody invested in the Knicks seems mad about the potential risks her presence could portend. Which … is that a first for a Kardashian-Jenner?
Kendall, meanwhile, is still hanging out with Jacob Elordi. I saw a video of them last night and, sorry, kinda have to admit that they do really look hot together. The caption here is absurd, but the visuals are definitely there.
