Jennifer Lopez: Mom with the hookups

Jennifer Lopez was one of so many celebrities who went to see Ariana Grande on tour in LA – Saturday night was the last of five shows that Ariana has played over the last couple of weeks. And there’s some (non-JLo related) gossip here because KATSEYE members were in attendance on Friday night and so was Manon…but Manon went with The Kid Laroi and his girlfriend and there was supposedly no contact between her and the others. She’s been on “hiatus” from the group since February but also since February there hasn’t been much clarification about whether or not she’s coming back, while group activities have continued without her. The speculation, at least in certain corners, has been incessant. I mean, to me, it’s pretty obvious that she’s done, she’s out, and it’ll be interesting to see going forward, one day, if she’ll ever be able to talk about what went down.

Now back to JLo, much less dramatic and way cuter – she took her child, Emme, and Ben Affleck’s child, Fin to the show. A mom and stepmom with the best hookups. As we have seen, quite regularly since she and Ben divorced, she has maintained a relationship with all of his kids. Emme and Fin are obviously still close, it’s not unusual for her to take Sam shopping, and there have also been a few hangs with Violet who just completed her second year at Yale and, in general, since she’s in university and not in Los Angeles as much through the academic year, isn’t photographed as much. It is sweet that they remain in each other’s lives.

JLo is coming off of Office Romance with Brett Goldstein, topping the Netflix movie charts in its first week and it’s currently Netflix’s biggest romance movie debut of 2026 (debut numbers were stronger than People We Meet on Vacation) although I wonder if that might change after this weekend because Voicemails for Isabelle is getting great reviews and could be a word-of-mouth sleeper.

For JLo, though, it’s a professional win. And they’re still doing some light promo for it. Last week Netflix released a video featuring her and Brett coaching people through speed dating. It’s cute and funny and once again showcases their chemistry and there’s also a dig at Ben Affleck when she says at one point that men from Boston can’t be trusted, LOL.

Her next project is a domestic thriller, The Last Mrs. Parrish, based on Liv Constantine’s book by the same name, directed by Robert Zemeckis. The story is about a woman who tries to scam a wealthy married couple only to realise that the wife is not the easy mark she thought she would be. The film wrapped last November so by now they should be done in post, it’s just a matter of when Netflix wants to release it. Still, it’s another reminder that JLo always has something cooking.
