But from Owen Wilson to Dax Shepard? Not a universal improvement aesthetically by any stretch. In fact, under certain light, with the right character and the right script (The Royal Tenenbaum’s) his nose can actually be kinda hot.

On clout and status – Owen all the way.

On raw humour, perhaps it’s a tie.

And Dax has been in a Jessica Simpson box office flop.

So do we really want to call this anything but a Downgrade?

But here they are, hand in hand after dinner in Malibu. For him, it’s a major, major, major coup. For her, hopefully just a fling in July. It’s really too bad she can’t date Vince Vaughn, although seeing two friend violations (Jennifer Aniston/Owen Wilson) would be the best smut ever.

Is it wrong to hope?
