Austin Butler, Zoë Kravitz, and Bad Bunny were in New York last night for the premiere of Darren Aronofsky’s Caught Stealing. Sarah’s review of the film will be posted tomorrow. For now, let’s just … admire all this beauty and sexiness, starting with Benito who is taking a break from his residency in Puerto Rico to promote the movie.

This residency, though. It is extraordinary what he’s done and doing as an artist with his platform, with his work, for and with his home. I’ve seen so many social media videos of people on full flights from around the world to Puerto Rico who are coming to see him. And who may not otherwise have made the trip. This is Benito standing on business, as they say, about where he’s from, proudly making music that honours his island, and then bringing the world there to appreciate its gifts and the joy of the place. That’s what stands out the most about his performances – it’s not just how joyful he is, it’s how the joy is being shared from and with the community to the audience and onto the stage.

As for Austin, both he and Zoë  have been leaning into 90s style on this press tour since the film is set in the 90s. This leather suit is Givenchy by Sarah Burton and obviously you could make an Elvis connection here too from the 68 special but my mind will always go 90s before 60s and I’ll take any excuse to revisit this moment from 1999.

It’s too bad Zoë didn’t play along – can you imagine? She too is referencing the 90s though. This is custom Saint Laurent but it took inspiration from the archive. Let’s appreciate the glorious Yasmeen Ghauri.

Zoë’s updated version is definitely for now but on style and design, I prefer the original. The 2025 version is just… tight. There’s nothing to it. But look at the flow on Yasmeen in 1990, how the sleeves are cut, the button on the waistband and the way the skirt is draped. It’s so much more interesting, right?

What else happened today…

Pajiba’s exclusive – the transcript of the conversation between Denzel Washington, Spike Lee, and A$AP Rocky during which Denzel says he doesn’t watch movies. I wish we could watch this because it’s hilarious, even to read. The way he is speaking to Rocky, I love the energy, I love how they’re interacting. This is multi-generational charm, just like Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. Maybe these three should be in a murder mystery – Britbox style. (Pajiba)

Isabelle Huppert looks so chic in this blazer and pants – simple, elegant, timeless. (Go Fug Yourself)

Kathy Bates is also out here campaigning for an Emmy and I love the strategy. She studies…and she also wants attention. Of course she does. Why pretend she doesn’t. An honest queen! (Celebitchy)

I posted in this space yesterday about the Cardi B trial. What I did not know then is how f-cking absurd the lawyer’s questions were, obviously not the one representing her. But also, it was an opportunity yet again for Cardi to show how smart and irresistible she is. (Complex)

Nicholas Quah’s hilarious piece about how cities should bid for the right to host the TNT wedding. I wish I had thought of this. (Vulture)
