Marc Maron is addressing his peers: comics. Particularly those who think it’s funny to align themselves with a fascist and make “jokes” about marginalised people and spew harmful rhetoric. Marc is beloved, highly respected, and fair. His words, targeting those in the comedy community, are sharp – and the takeaway here, for them, should be how disappointed he is. He’s disappointed in them. Will that hurt them? They’ll never admit it but it will. (Pajiba)
I really love this colour on Daisy Ridley – she looks amazing in yellow and unlike the Fug Girls, I actually don’t mind that her arms look wrapped in, for me the only issue with the dress is that I don’t like where the collar sits. If it was slightly higher maybe? Because right now, given where it is, that’s what’s contributing to the mummy look. It doesn’t look… intentional. And I feel like if you brought up the collar a little, that would fix it. (Go Fug Yourself)
I hate Halloween but I don’t hate “I Hate Gay Halloween” which is a meme and a trend and the costumes are hilarious and imaginative. The Glasgow Willy Wonka Experience one killed me. And also the pole vaulter from the Olympics which went viral. (The Mary Sue)
The Washington Post controversy is terrible for everyone. And the fact that the paper hast lost 200K subscribers, I mean I get it, I get that the readers were making a statement but it’s hardly a fistpump because publishing is already struggling and it’s never good when people actively stop reading legit newspapers. To be clear, I am not defending WaPo’s decision. What I’m saying is that the decision was bad for journalism and the consequences are also bad for journalism. (Celebitchy)
Ice Cube came out before Game 2 of the World Series in LA and lit up the stadium. It was an amazing performance, full of swagger and hometown pride and, well, that beat. It’s hard to beat the beat of “It Was a Good Day”. Fat Joe tried it last night… and, sorry, but he flopped. Um, just like the Yankees. (Uproxx)
