A Hot Girl Summer of Love and Sports

Seems like every week this summer we’re getting a new celebrity couple and we want it to continue but we also should remember to love on them equally, especially when it’s our favourite – like Megan Thee Stallion who hard launched not too long ago with Klay Thompson and since then, it’s like both of them can’t help themselves, they’re so happy and so into each other, they want to share it with everyone else. 

This is what a queen deserves: to be with a person who is thrilled to be with her, who knows how fortunate he is to be with her, and who wants to involve her in whatever it is that he’s doing. Klay is an athlete so, obviously, many of these activities are sport and rec. 

Last week he took her golfing. She posted a seven minute video on TikTok that started with him picking her outfit before heading to the course. Maybe it’s just me, watching all this unfold with my rom-com eyes, but I really appreciate the way he speaks to her, explaining without too much mansplaining how it works, but also keeping it light and fun. 

And then, at the end, when he’s bragging about his score, he says that he’s “in love” and that she’s his “good luck charm”.

Golf was last week, this week it’s fishing and Klay’s turn to share it on his socials. Again, he’s introducing her to the things he likes to do, and it’s a good building block for a relationship. While they’re on the boat, Klay tells her to put some music on – specifically HER music, and then proceeds to rap along to all the words, while she beams with pride at the camera because she knows, she knows that this man is her fan, that he f-cks with her work, respects her work, is more than happy to broadcast to all his followers who the real star is between them, and clearly (at least to me) adores her! As he should! 

MC posted earlier about Meg’s new show, KPOPPED, premiering on Apple at the end of the month. She’ll probably be doing promotion for it soon. And now I’m wondering if he might come in with an assist. Megan has long been into K-pop, she knows her sh-t. Let’s see how much of that she’s downloaded onto Klay, and if he’s good to get down with some Korean bops.
