Lucy Liu showed up at the LA premiere of A Man in Full this week in the cutest black cocktail dress that is feels like it was designed specifically with her in mind, it’s so perfect.
The piece is by NARDOS. And the defining detail is the huge bow placed across the chest, intentionally lopsided. The bow also has a job, covering any body parts exposed by the black lace underneath. There are also floral embellishments all over the dress and a layered hem to offset the different materials which also adds to the teacup effect from below the waist. It’s beautifully constructed, it’s timeless, and it looks incredible on her. Love that she kept the hair simple and flat, and went pretty light on jewellery.
I do wish, however, that the shoe choice was different. I hate a fan sandal, so that just might be me but it really just doesn’t work with the dress. It’s not a huge deal – this is one of the two outfits of the week, after all – because nothing can take away from how delightful she is in this dress, but if there is a note to make, a minor suggestion, that would be it.
The other outfit of the week is a showbiz veteran who’s known as one of the most entertaining talk show guests, an amazing storyteller, an electrifying live performer, but not a fashion girl. But Martin Short jumped on fashion’s biggest trend this week: tennis core. LOLOLOLOLOLOL
Martin was shooting a scenes for season four of Only Murders in the Building. So I guess Oliver is answering Law Roach’s #TashiMadeMeWearIt challenge. On surprise factor, I think he wins.
