Do you think Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman even know what day it is anymore? These two have been promoting Deadpool & Wolverine everywhere, literally around the world, for weeks. And it’s giving Tom Cruise in terms of ubiquity but also energy.

It must help, of course, that Ryan and Hugh are best friends and they’re also really close with director Shawn Levy, but still, it’s worth noting that every stop on this tour has been with their best personalities forward, and I know it should always be like this because promoting a movie as your job isn’t, like, hard work, but we’ve seen time and again the stars who get cranky and petulant the longer a tour continues. Ryan and Hugh, however, have been able to sustain it and answer the same questions they’ve already answered but keep it fresh for not only the media but also the audience. As both a member of the media and part of the audience, I appreciate this so much!

Today they were in NYC and make the rounds, one of those stops was Good Morning America. And Ryan was specifically asked about getting Madonna to say yes to having him use “Like A Prayer” in the film. This is a classic Ryan Reynold answer – information… with quips! I love this anecdote.

Tonight is the big NYC premiere so… will Blake Lively show up? I mean, probably. She and Ryan live in New York, this is a massive movie for him, so even if she wasn’t Lady Deadpool her attendance would be expected, but now that there’s all this speculation that she’s probably Lady Deadpool she’ll be even more of a heatscore. And I guess for them it’s a full circle redo situation too after the mess of Green Lantern, this can be the superhero movie they’re in together that their kids and their kids’ generation will know best. Blake is certainly promoting it like she’s in it. I wonder, when it’s time for It Ends With Us, how Ryan will return the favour. Given the subject matter it’s kinda hard to be as irreverent with that one.
