Scarlett’s victory wig

As Sarah wrote the other day, with the huge box office success of Jurassic World Rebirth, Scarlett Johansson is now the highest-grossing actor in Hollywood and her worldwide total is now getting closer and closer to $15 billion, which would be a new record. 

So these are triumphant times for Scarjo, it’ll be interesting to see how much more power influence she accumulates from the Jurassic win and how she’ll use it. Right now, though, she’s back at work. Here she is on the set of Paper Tiger in New York today in a hilarious wig. It’s like an SNL wig (the whole costume, really) – bad hair in a sketch that’s meant to make you laugh. Not sure that Paper Tiger is a comedy though. James Gray, the director, isn’t exactly known for comedy, but this wig and the unbrushed curls and the way it sits up at the back, is very funny. Can’t wait to see how it actually looks on camera and whether or not it’ll be distracting.

Back to Scarjo being the movie star with the biggest box office, Colin Jost was asked about it yesterday and he’s proud of her, great. I’m more into the fact that he did the interview at the 2025 American Century Championship, a celebrity tournament. Colin’s apparently a 12-or-so handicap but it reminds me of the time they clowned him about his game on SNL. 

It’s not the most hideous swing I’ve ever seen but the burn is specific and excellent.  

What else happened today…

Speaking of golf… I kinda lost enthusiasm for Stick, but now that I know that Timothy Olyphant makes an appearance, and that his ass is on display, I might push through. (Pajiba)

Cardi B continues to be a Paris Fashion Week favourite and it was great to see Tessa Thompson because it’s been a while, though I agree that the tulle gloves are tricky. (Go Fug Yourself)

The fake abs discourse makes me laugh. A couple of weeks ago it was Drake and now it’s Big Sean. (Complex)

Did Hugh Grant fall asleep at Wimbledon? I don’t blame him. He must have been hot, and I always get sleepy when I’m sitting down and warm and the back and forth of the ball is kinda soothing. (Celebitchy)
