I’m not really sure why anyone needs an explanation for why Kate Beckinsale and her boyfriend of almost six months Goody Grace are no longer together. It’s not like we haven’t seen a lot of quick hookups and quick breakups during the pandemic – not that celebrity relationships were long lasting pre-COVID anyway – and it’s not like anyone was expecting these two would be together forever. That said, I do like how this is being spun.
“A source confirms to PEOPLE that the actress, 47, and the Canadian rapper, 23, split earlier this month. "It's not a big deal for Kate," the source says. "It was great for Kate to have him around during the lockdown."
So, basically, for Kate, lockdown was the new cuffing season.
“The source adds Grace "is young and has other priorities than her," and that Beckinsale "totally gets it."
It’s a nice “source” way of saying, it’s not her, it’s him.
Takeaway: Kate B isn’t sitting around pining over the end of her romance with her young lover. She was the catch here and she’s good. Single now. So should we play Gossip Genie? Of course.
