Dear Gossips,

I waited to write this intro to see who won the AFC championship game, the Buffalo Bills, or the Kansas City Chiefs. Not because I have any personal investment—these are not my teams—but because I wanted to know how much misogyny would be projected into the world because Taylor Swift was at the game, along with her whole family.

Since the Chiefs won, sealing their third straight AFC championship and trip to the Super Bowl, it’s the normal amount of misogyny aimed at TSwift for being a famous girlfriend. Honestly, I root for the Chiefs largely because I just do not want to deal with the amount of misogyny that will come if/when the team loses a big game with her present. And I don’t mean a regular season game, I mean these playoff situations. Since Taylor started dating Travis Kelce, the Chiefs have been THE team to beat, they’ve won a Super Bowl, they’re going to another one. They’re the evil empire of football right now and I don’t even care because I don’t want to hear some basement bar bro blame Taylor for the team losing a big game, as if she has anything to do with it.

Anyway, Taylor turned up in a Lainey-approved outfit, head-to-toe Louis Vuitton with a tights/boots combo that I bet a lot of us rock during the winter.

Taylor Swift arrives prior to the AFC Championship Game between the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on January 26, 2025 in Kansas City, Missouri

I’m not into clothes with branding, but I really like that zip-up sweater. It actually looks warm, which not all fashion sweaters are.

Speaking of Taylor, Eras may be over, but her new era is just beginning—the Year of the Snake begins on Wednesday, the lunar new year. Taylor is a Snake, Reputation is her snake-era album, and many people are calling her gameday outfit “Reputation coded” as if it’s an Easter egg that Reputation (Taylor’s Version) is coming. (A bigger hint might be that Reputation and Taylor Swift aren’t listed on her official Spotify page.)

I think we are going to get RepTV this year, but not because of Taylor’s clothes, just because it makes sense to release it in 2025, we’re going on two years since her last “Taylor’s Version” re-release. But I think she’ll time it for maximum Snake impact, which might mean a Grammys night announcement, similar to how she announced The Tortured Poet’s Department during last year’s Grammys. If I believe anything about Taylor Alison Swift it’s that she loves to win. The Grammys, maybe an album announcement, Travis going back to the Super Bowl, there’s victory in the air. The focus is on winning.

Live long and gossip,

Sarah
