Kansas City opened their season at home against Baltimore last night with Taylor Swift in the crowd cheering on Travis Kelce.

I don’t do football so I actually don’t know who won but I can tell you what’s not winning me: Taylor’s outfit. I hate it.

And it’s not the denim-on-denim thing. Denim-on-denim is great, people do it all the time, and it can be very, very stylish, but this denim-on-denim is all wrong. I don’t like where the bustier is hitting her where it dips in the middle, the two denim shades don’t actually work together, and this is not the right pair of tall boots to wear with this fit. Like, on their own, the boots are fine. With the shorts, the length of them, the proportion is all off, my stylist Simone and I have been screaming about this all morning. There was a way pull it off, with different denim or boot options, that could have been so fly. But this, sorry Swifties, is a loss in my books. She looks like an extra in the background of a country pop video.

Some fans are speculating that there could be an Easter egg in the clothing. That the fit is predominantly blue, as in Democrat blue. Others are saying the blue and red combination is about meeting in the middle and finding common ground. I’m not a Swiftie so I can’t math her brain like these fans think they can, but this, to me, is a stretch. She thought she looked hot in a bustier and mini-shorts with tall boots, the end.

As for the gossip – yesterday in my post about Taylor’s anticipated attendance at the game, I wondered whether or not she and Brittany Mahomes would be sitting together. They did not. Taylor was in the suite with Travis’s family. Brittany was … I don’t know and I don’t have to know because she’s not the main character here. The main character is Taylor and the main character question is how she manages this friendship with a person who’s been so controversial. The fact that they were not together at the game could mean nothing. It could be something. But does that put more weight on the next game?

Here are TNT leaving together hand in hand. Are we as squealy about this as we were a year ago? Or have we settled into a less intense level of affection, similar to how a relationship might after the honeymoon?
