September has been a MONTH, hasn’t it? Red carpets are happening everywhere, the celebrity action has been non-stop. And last night it was the Tony Awards. Where Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton seemed to make their first official appearance together as a couple?
Tom and Zawe worked together on Betrayal on Broadway and there’s been speculation ever since that they’re dating. Photos of them kissing in Ibiza came out a couple of weeks ago and that’s why their attendance last night, even though they were representing their play, alongside their other Betrayal team members, is being seen as the premiere of their relationship.
I’m less interested in his love life than I am in his hair life. Tom’s wearing his hair long-ish this year. Not like Loki long but definitely not short. And he’s not the only one showing off some length. Tony Awards co-host Leslie Odom Jr wore his hair long and high, and I really, really love the different ways he’s been styling it lately. Like here, last week at The Many Saints of Newark Tribeca Fall Preview with it pushed to the side off-centre.
Not sure if we’re still calling it the Killmonger hairstyle, after Michael B Jordan’s appearance in Black Panther, but it looks really good on Leslie.
And then Jake Gyllenhaal, in one of his peak eras. Jake is never not attractive but right now, with his hair this length, it’s definitely a high point.
It’s the hair and also the pink suit, which surprised me. Jake isn’t boring like, say, Leonardo DiCaprio, on a red carpet. But the pink here is definitely his biggest flex – and it’s great to see him going for it. He already went for it on the cover of The Sunday Times Style this week.
And he went for it earlier this month in Venice in a white suit at the gala and I’m not sure I had the chance to post those shots, but even if I did, it’s worth another look because if we’re talking peak Jake, this is it:
Right? This is end of summer hair, it goes with his summer tan, and an open collar, and a generally relaxed mood. On him it’s super sexy.
Oh and if you were wondering about a romance update, Jeanne Cadieu was at the Tonys too last night (they didn’t walk the carpet together) so she and Jake are definitely still happening.
