Rocky & Rihanna: Walgreens and Walmart
A$AP Rocky’s interview with Jason Lee was posted yesterday. It’s almost two hours long, I’m still making my way through it, but it’s a great freewheeling conversation about Rocky’s life and upbringing, his career, and his relationships.
One part that’s going viral is what he says about grandmother refusing to leave their family home in Harlem even though he can afford to get her a new place, so he’s paid rent for the entire building.
It’s well known that Jason Lee is close with Rocky and Rihanna. Most of the time, when a friend interviews another celebrity friend, the conversation is boring – too safe, too respectful. That is not the case with Jason. Friendships are maintained but Jason is also there to get the gossip, and gossipy questions are asked. Here’s one, about Drake.

I like that Rocky doesn’t jump right into the mud here. There’s no need to provide the gasoline when social media will do it for you – and later on he actually acknowledges that Drake is doing just fine and that his beef with Kendrick Lamar was fun (although there’s no doubt about who won). And later on he even talks about Drake and others being snubbed at the Grammys and how they were all snubbed on “F-ckin’ Problems”.
On the topic of whether or not he stole Rihanna from Drake though – most people are fixating on the Drake part but not enough people are clocking the part about the “Saudi prince”, Hassan Jameel! Nobody talks about this anymore, but that’s who RiRi was with, officially, right before she and Rocky turned their friendship into more. So Rocky is clarifying the timeline.
During his conversation with Jason Lee, A$AP Rocky shut down the idea that he “took” Rihanna from Dr*ke, responding simply:

“I did not take his girl!”
Rocky admitted he’s surprised the topic still comes up, adding, “Everybody moved on with their lives… and [he’s] still strung… pic.twitter.com/qCMAfgw4Wp
Sorry. But when Rocky giggles… it’s a problem for me. Not that I ever questioned why Rihanna went in so hard for him, this man is so fine, but there are layers, and this interview is exposing them.
That said, he’s down bad for her too. And during his conversation with Jason, he explains in detail what it is about her that made it real for him.
Since the foundation of their relationship is friendship, Rocky is unbothered by all the noise that he’s less than she is, and unthreatened by the fact that she’s wealthier, more famous, more everything.

Earlier this week we saw footage of Rocky and Rihanna grinding on each other in Barbados – which is why they keep having babies, but it’s not just the physical attraction, it’s also the fun. These two aren’t just non-stop f-cking, when they’re not f-cking they’re playing. Play is an underrated part of a healthy relationship. Communication is important, trust is important, but play is important too. And these two play hard. At Walgreens – fourth slide below.
I believe this, not only because Jason was a witness but because we KNOW, we have SEEN that RiRi loves a drug store. And they both, apparently, love a Walmart. This next story is wild to me.
A$AP Rocky talked about how people will not understand the ghetto love he and Rihanna got going on revealing they do go on camping trip where they will park a RV in the back of Walmart and Riri will be barefoot cooking on the grill while he will be doing tie dye shirts and… pic.twitter.com/PcPnl1o3Sg

I know we’ve heard this before, about their road trips, but not with this much detail and not with him on camera talking about parking the RV in a Walmart parking lot and grilling meat and hanging tie-dye shirts… WHAT?! Imagine going to Walmart to get batteries, toiletries, and sliced processed cheese (I’m telling on myself here) and seeing Rihanna making hot dogs with Rocky hanging clothes off the camping van? Would you go back inside, get a bottle of cheap vodka with some mixer and box of Oreos and invite yourself to the party? I think that’s what I would do, now that I hear him talking about it, because I don’t think they’d actually mind.
