Speaking of being on set, Sydney Sweeney and Zoe Kravitz are both working on films shooting in New York right now.

Sweeney is working on a sequel to The Housemaid called The Housemaid’s Secret, based on the second novel in Freida McFadden’s book trilogy. The sequel brings back Paul Feig as the director, Sweeney as housemaid Millie, and Michele Morrone as Enzo the groundskeeper.

Sweeney and Morrone were having a moment as Millie and Enzo while filming.

Amanda Seyfried won’t factor into the sequel—the books follow Millie as she avenges her way through the homes of the wealthy—but Seyfried said earlier this year that she expects to do a cameo in the film, and that she would “jump the f-ck back into it”.

The Housemaid was a big hit, I’m not surprised they’re making a sequel, but I think Seyfried’s performance was a bigger draw than Sweeney. It makes sense, then, that the producers went to Kirsten Dunst to star as the sequel’s wealthy wife, Wendy. Like just keep pairing Sweeney with a great actress who can give a fully unhinged performance, that’s the winning formula.

Meanwhile, Zoe Kravitz was on the set of Die Alive, the third feature film from Canadian filmmaker Megan Park. Her previous film was My Old Ass, which I love, and this summer she had a TV hit with Sterling Point.

Park’s work has been coming of age tales so far, but Die Alive is said to be about mid-life challenges, such as aging parents, though it is still also described as a comedy about friendship, too. I’m interested to see what Park does with older characters facing mid-life challenges. Kravitz was filming her scene solo, but Die Alive also stars Jamie Dornan, Riley Keough, and Adèle Exarchopoulos. Honestly, between these two films, I am way more interested in Megan Park’s next film than a Housemaid sequel.
