Dear Gossips,

Emmys voting is now underway and will continue until next Wednesday 26 August. In the Best Supporting Actor category, comedy, the nominees are Colman Domingo, Paul W Downs, Nick Offerman, Stephen Root, Michael Urie, and Tyler James Williams. Oh yeah, and also Harrison Ford. This is Harrison’s second Emmy nomination, after his first-ever Emmy nomination last year. Which he didn’t win.

Will he win this time?

According to awards experts, he has a chance, but given the breakout popularity of Widow’s Bay this season, Stephen Root might get it. He too is a veteran actor, he’s worked with just about everyone, the Television Academy membership will likely be familiar with him. And the Academy already showed us last year that they wouldn’t be awarding Harrison just because he’s Indiana Jones and Han Solo and Rick Deckard and Jack Ryan, and Dr Richard Kimball.

Harrison isn’t as active on the campaign trail as some of the other actors from other shows but sometimes selective is more effective than constant. And Harrison went viral yesterday for a very well-timed collaboration with another pop culture icon: Cookie Monster, obviously.

As the kids say, this is cinema. It is all the art – drama, comedy, culinary, craftsmanship, costume design, music, and more. We are operating on the highest level here! Harrison’s face is telling a thousand stories!

Also, nobody is happier than Harrison Ford to be hanging out with Cookie. Like … honestly? And Cookie lately has been very outside, very Hollywood. He’s not just nom nom-ing with Indy and Han, he was just on the red carpet with Tomdaya, as in Spider-Man and MJ.

They all stop on the red carpet for Cookie Monster. But not all of them get to hum a theme song with Cookie while he’s wearing your costume.

Yours in gossip,

Lainey
