Will Zendaya and Tom Holland manage to dodge questions about their rumoured marriage as they promote Spider-Man: Brand New Day?

Gossip has been anticipating this moment for months. It’s happening, we’re back…

Tom Holland and Zendaya on the red carpet, beginning promotion for Spider-Man: Brand New Day in Madrid. They are one of the internet’s favourite couples. Honestly? We are probably too invested in the longevity and sustainability of this relationship as they are one of the very few celebrity couples whose romance is not polarising. Everyone is rooting for them – which, ironically, likely makes it that much more uncomfortable, adding to the already weird reality of fame that they’ve each struggled with. And this is why they are so protective and private about their life together. So these joint appearances don’t happen often. I can’t remember the last time they were on a red carpet together, I think maybe it was the last Spider-Man movie…five years ago!

But we’ve been expecting this. It’s not like it was a secret that the movie was coming out – and not just this one. The Odyssey is coming, too. That film actually releases two weeks before Brand New Day so the Spider-Man press tour is starting ahead of The Odyssey and for sure there had to be some coordination between the studios on the scheduling here since Tom and Zendaya are in both and Tom has called The Odyssey a “masterpiece” and has said several times how much he enjoyed the experience working on the project – he’ll want to do what he can to share in the promotion of it.

The way they look at each other is delightful. And restoring! Love is precious! So precious that they have, quite rightly, fortified it to the best of their ability while also accepting that some of their lives happen under the spotlight. It’ll be interesting, then, to see how they manage this while they market the movie. Zendaya was able to swerve all questions about their rumoured marriage while she was on The Drama press tour. And that was a film about marriage! Presumably for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Tomdaya will be doing at least some of the interviews and appearances together. Zendaya is a skilled dodger. Tom…on the other hand…has a reputation for, well, not being able to keep secrets. And we already know that this man could not be more proud and thrilled to be her life partner. It’ll be interesting to see if he can contain himself.

As for the fashion for the first stop, a fringy black Christian Cowan strapless dress. On theme but not too on-the-nose. I love the bow at the hip.
