If you come here often, you were already excited for the Oscars, because it’s the gossip Super Bowl. But now, now that the first wave of presenters has been announced, that excitement just went nuclear. Because… 

ZENDAYA. 

 

As if this Dune: Part 2 press tour wasn’t enough with her fashion domination, now we’re getting Zendaya at the Oscars just over a week after the movie opens to what will likely be a huge box office. 

Zendaya is among ten stars confirmed today by the Academy. The includes Mahershala Ali, Nicolas Cage, Jamie Lee Curtis, Brendan Fraser, Jessica Lange, Matthew McConaughey, Lupita Nyong’o, Al Pacino, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ke Huy Quan, Sam Rockwell, and Michelle Yeoh. 

 

Zendaya is the only name on this list who is under 40 so she’s doing a lot of work that night. For the Academy she’s tasked with presenting and drawing in a younger audience. And for the rest of us she’s tasked with… serving! We are all of us now anxiously waiting to see what she and Law Roach will come up with as she uses that platform to begin promotion for Challengers which is pretty much kicking off right when she’s done with Dune. 

So to recap, what 2024 will be giving us so far is Zendaya for Dune: Part 2, and Zendaya at the Oscars, followed by Zendaya for Challengers, and then, to cap it all off, Zendaya co-chairing the Met Gala!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m calling it a GRAND SLAM. 

 

On that note, here’s Z at the Dune 2 premiere in New York last night in Stephane Rolland and… well… what else is there to say? What?! NOTHING. She is unstoppable and untoppable, unless she’s the one topping herself. 

 

Which is why, sure, I’ll throw in some shots of Timothée Chalamet who has given up at this point. And Florence Pugh and Austin Butler. And also Anya Taylor-Joy who, frankly, let’s be honest, it’s not giving. It’s really not giving.

 

Can I give an honourable mention though? Rebecca Ferguson doing goth and grunge? I love it.
