Zoë and Austin: Sexy, incoming
Zoë Kravitz and Austin Butler were both seen in New York yesterday, separately, ahead of the release of Caught Stealing on August 29. I don’t know what kind of impact it will have on the box office considering that’s Labour Day weekend, traditionally not exactly a promising time for movies but I can tell you I’ll be there to escape the heat but also to get some heat from whatever chemistry these two will be serving onscreen.
We’ve all seen the promo shots and the teasers – because as Sarah has pointed out, a lot of the marketing has been on this combination.
Their togetherness, whether or it’s just as characters or in real life (and the speculation doesn’t hurt), is not all of it. These two are sexy AF on their own so this has also been a focus. Do I want to watch Austin doing nothing but sitting in a chair over and over again? Actually, yes.
Zoë was not in Puerto Rico with Austin, Bad Bunny, and Darren Aronofsky but the junket is this coming weekend and there’s no doubt she’ll be on the carpet with the team for the premiere. In the meantime, let’s enjoy this outfit – a pinstripe set, cropped waistcoast over a pair of exquisitely tailored trousers. I don’t even have to check and I know this is Saint Laurent, she’s an ambassador, and if you want and can afford the pants, you can get them here, on sale for $2,200, LOL.
If you’re looking for a more affordable option, I can help, because I had a fitting a couple of weeks ago and we were going for a stylish business vibe so I tried on a lot of navy pinstripe. Like this Acne pair which is pricey but not as pricey as Zoë’s and not as heavy since the Saint Laurent is wool and the Acne is much lighter.
LilySilk also has a pair that’s not as dark but they fall really well and that’s a much better price point. The Favorite Pant at Revolve is similar and both felt quite good when they were on.
We also tried two casual options. Reformation’s Tully pant has a stretchy waistband and they were super comfortable. And the Alexander Wang trousers that are kinda like pyjama pants are on sale right now with limited sizes, they looked great over sneakers and if we weren’t going for something slightly more elevated I would have kept them.
So in the end we narrowed it down to two, and these happen to be a good match for Zoë’s Saint Laurent. The Tansy Pleated Trouser falls the way it’s supposed to but is also really beautifully structured. They came in second place because the pair I ended up with could not be denied.
It was the side-zip on Sandro’s Chalk-Striped Trousers that made the difference. The Saint Laurent trousers are not side-zip but I prefer it in this trouser for my body because it makes for a neater tuck with the shirt and also is a better fit if you’re wearing a sweater or a top that doesn’t require tucking because then the front of the pant lies more flat. Aside from that feature though, the cut and the fall of the Sandro pants have the same effect as the Saint Laurent. And while they’re not cheap, they are considerably more reasonably priced.
