Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine have been promoting Spring Breakers all across Europe. Gomez, obviously, is the highest ranked player in the group. And you can tell by the styling. She’s been dressed in Gucci, Versace, several top end labels through this tour. Hudgens meanwhile is getting some second tier clothing. Certainly not major luxury labels (unless she buys it herself) but on the level of Naeem Khan (which she’s wearing here in Madrid) and maybe, like, Monique Lhuillier. The other two...you know. There’s a difference between wearing Topshop by choice, like the Emma Stones of the industry, and wearing it by necessity.

This is why Hollywood is so fascinating for human observation.

Because these are deeply narcissistic personalities having to live by a hierarchy that presents itself in every facet of their professions -- from wardrobe to party invitations to seating arrangements to agency attention -- and it’s a lot to handle for those fragile egos, regardless of gender. And especially with this generation, a demographic seemingly genetically engineered to famewhore (verb). See the Twilight cast, and Ashley Greene’s attitude towards Kristen Stewart. That’s not to say that, guaranteed, the Spring Breaker girls, who are friends, will end up sabotaging each other, but it makes for a very interesting sample to study over time. In 5 years, how will it all shift? Who’s the Amanda Seyfried of this group? Who will be the Lindsay Lohan?
