Everyone’s been screening Gone Girl this week. So far, the reviews have been very positive. Rolling Stone, Variety, People, The Guardian, all of them are into it. And especially Rosamund Pike’s performance as Amy Dunne. As I’ve been writing for a couple of weeks now, Gone Girl is supposed to be Pike’s breakthrough to the top tier of actresses and it could very well put her right in there with Julianne Moore and Reese Witherspoon in the Best Actress race. Fun fact: Reese was considering playing the part of Amy Dunne; she’s a producer on the movie. It’s an interesting anecdote if both of them are on the list of five nominees.

So is it confirmed? Gone Girl is worth it? Better than the book? I hope so because I didn’t love the book. But I can’t wait to see the movie. It opens next week. Here’s Pike in New York beginning major American promotion and, basically, kicking off her campaign.
