Matt Damon Gossip
Matt Damon gossip, latest news, photos, and video.
Dear Gossips,
I can’t believe Michael Douglas won’t be receiving an Oscar nomination for his work in Behind The Candelabra. Because he is BRILLIANT in Behind The Candelabra. An actor still at the very, very, very top of his game. And Matt Damon too. And Steven Soderbergh.
Behind The Candelabra is so f-cking good, I watched it twice last night, back to back. You know what the word is? It’s a word I never, ever, ever use because it’s so, so, SO overused:
Fabulous.
But how else to say it? Fabulous, and sad, and hysterical. The kind of movie you keep playing, if only to learn the lines. What makes it even more fabulous is that fabulous was not their goal. They played it straight, no pun intended. In playing it straight, the authenticity gave way to the fabulous, organically. Read Full Intro
Behind The Candelabra in Cannes

Michael Douglas and Matt Damon were in Cannes today to promote Behind The Candelabra, premiering on HBO and HBO Canada on Sunday. Here’s where I get spoiled and whiny and wonder about my screener. That said, I also haven’t checked the mail in several days. By the way, Game Of Thrones fans, Episode 9 has been pre-empted because of Memorial Day and Candelabra will air in its place so don’t be surprised if you tune in on Sunday expecting the Khaleesi and find a lot of rhinestone, marble, and hairspray instead. It’s Como Time

George Clooney, his producing partner Grant Heslov, and Matt Damon have been shooting The Monuments Men in Germany the last couple of months. Evidently they needed a break. So they spent a few days in Italy... It’s almost summertime. Which means it’s Como Time. At least it is for George, who has no wife and children to go back to during his down time. Full Story
Please don’t let Elysium be disappointing like Prometheus
Was there a bigger let down last year than Prometheus? All the hype, is-it-Alien/is-it-not-Alien, the series of good trailers and stellar viral marketing, Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender AND Idris Elba in a movie together, and then…it kind of sucked. A lot. Sci-fi is hard. Full Story
Liberace was Gay Boogyman
The new trailer is out for Behind The Candelabra, HBO’s biopic about Liberace (Michael Douglas) and his boyfriend (Matt Damon), and damn if it doesn’t look like everything you could want it to be. Douglas playing into his naturally creepy old-man vibe, Matt Damon in a speedo (bonus Rob Lowe bulge!), plus coke, capes, and bathtub drama! A description of this movie reads like a Stefan sketch from SNL ie: Behind The Candelabra’s got everything. Full Story
More movie stars at the Emmys
A new teaser trailer has been released for HBO’s Behind The Candelabra with Michael Douglas as Liberace and Matt Damon playing his lover Scott Thorson, directed by Steven Soderbergh. Can’t wait, can’t wait, can’t wait to see this. May 26 in Canada and the US but Deadline Full Story
I thought it was a pillow fight
It’s how I read this headline initially: George Clooney Starts Pillow Fight with Matt Damon Unfortunately what it actually said was: George Clooney Starts Snowball Fight with Matt Damon It’s an article on PEOPLE.com. Full Story
The fun dinner party without Stacy Keibler

George Clooney is in Germany directing his next film The Monuments Men with Matt Damon, Bill Murray, and John Goodman. Goodman has starred in the last two Oscar winning pictures, right? Will he go 3 for 3 for George? Now this looks like a good time. And especially hilarious, to me at least, is that Bill Murray’s on a smartphone. Full Story
Ben shaves his playoff beard

I’m telling you, that’s why the Patriots lost in the Super Bowl to the Giants the first time, in Phoenix. They were undefeated that season. And...Tom Brady CUT HIS HAIR for the only game that mattered! Ben Affleck wasn’t so stupid. He kept a playoff beard going through award season and, well, as we know, it worked. Full Story
Danny & Linus together again
Wenn, Keystone
As many before me have already noted, what made Ocean’s 11 so great was the illusion that that was how they are when they’re all together, hanging out. That George Clooney, obviously, is the team leader. And Brad Pitt talks with his mouth full all the time. And Casey Affleck and Scott Caan run around giving each other wedgies. Full Story
Granny humps for Matt Damon
Did you see Jimmy Kimmel Sucks hosted by Matt Damon last night? I was Nyquiled so I only watched this morning, in bits and pieces because the entire show is geo-blocked and YouTube has the individual segments spliced up. Heads up Americans, before you send a recommendation, Hulu is geo-blocked too. Full Story
Couple friends

When Matt Damon was here in Vancouver shooting a movie last year, John Krasinski and Emily Blunt would fly in to see him, super low key, and it turns out they were collaborating. Damon and Krasinski co-wrote and co-star in the upcoming Promised Land. And when they’re not working, their families get on really well too. Full Story
The smiling Afflecks
Bauer, FameFlynet
The Afflecks went to Spago for dinner last night. They were photographed on the way out, arm in arm, and Jennifer Garner was beaming. She was beaming earlier too when the paps shot her out for a walk/run with a friend. And he was in good spirits as he took his girls out to run errands. No missteps here. Full Story
Tom Cruise’s spanking
Any excuse to use my favourite photo of Tom Cruise. For those of you new to my blog, this image has NOT been altered. It originally appeared in Rolling Stone. As I reported yesterday, Tom Cruise tagged along with Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, and Chris Hemsworth this weekend in London. Full Story
