Friends ended like 15 years ago. And people have been talking about a reunion, not sure what that looks like, but that’s the question that keeps coming up over and over again. Part of that, even though no one wants to admit it, is that the show continues to be popular because of Netflix. A new audience found it on Netflix. Full Story

Toss a coin to The Witcher

Spoilers Like Game of Thrones, Netflix’s big-budget fantasy adaptation The Witcher is based on a series of fantasy books, in this case by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski (there is also a series of very popular video games). The Witcher is a fantasy world full of monsters, sorcery, tits, ass, incest, and yes, even a dragon, so you can see the appeal for those still reeling from their Thrones hangover. Full Story

The Mandalorian, Star Wars’ first live-action television show of the Disney era, got off to a strong start. The final episode aired during the last week of the year and amazingly for Star Wars, the show actually lived up to its hype. Full Story

Dear Gossips,

I’m so excited about Eddie Murphy’s return to Saturday Night Live this weekend, it’s almost pathetic. But I can’t be the only one. SNL is excited. And I wonder if they’re actually planning two shows – the main show, obviously, but also a show behind the scenes.  Read Full Intro

Spoilers Amazingly, incredibly, for a show that has SO much going on, last night Watchmen came to a satisfying conclusion. It’s almost a little TOO pat, the way everything ties off, but I’m not going to complain about Damon Lindelof tying off all his threads. When the first look for the film adaptation of Little Fires Everywhere was released, I wrote about my excitement for the project, particularly the book’s themes of perfectionism, artistry, privilege, post-partum depression, and estrangement. Full Story

We have arrived at the final episode of Watchmen season one, which makes me incredibly nervous, because if you’re familiar with Damon Lindelof, then you know sticking the landing isn’t his strong suit. Even though the story is mostly in focus now, and we can see how things connect, there are still a lot of questions to answer. Full Story

We all know The Cutting Edge is perfect, but what if I told you there is a Netflix show that is basically just The Cutting Edge but for the Peak TV era? That means it’s The Cutting Edge, but with more explicit sex, plus drugs and INNER DARKNESS. That show exists and it is called Spinning Out, and it stars Kaya Scodelario and January Jones as a washed-up figure skater and her stage mom, respectively. Full Story

Dear Gossips,

We’ve been saying for weeks that this looks like the most competitive Oscar race in years across all categories and as more and more film associations and critics’ boards announce their winners and nominations lists, so far, while there are certainly stronger contenders than others, there does not seem to be consensus, which of course makes it that much more unpredictable.  Read Full Intro
