Watchmen: Big Blue Surprise
HBO
Spoilers As we approach the end of Watchmen, we’re getting into serious spoiler territory, so tap out now if you’re not caught up. Okay? If you don’t want to be spoiled, now is the time to get gone. Throughout Watchmen’s run, I’ve been wondering what the linchpin is, what is the piece that connects Angela Abar’s story and the conspiracy in Tulsa with Adrian Veidt trying to escape from outer space, and now we know—it’s not a “what”, it’s a “who”. Watchmen’s Two Faces

Over six episodes of Watchmen, a pattern has emerged. There are two central story tenets, one grounded in the expanded world of the show, centering on Angela Abar and the thematic exploration of race in America. The other grows outs of the original graphic novel and revolves around the plot—still somewhat mysterious—featuring Adrian Veidt, Laurie Blake, and the conspiracy in Tulsa. Full Story

Revisiting The Crown: Princess Anne’s Most Unimpressed Faces
Netflix
Erin Doherty stars in the third season of The Crown as grown-up Princess Anne, and she is MAGNIFICENT. She is also, unfortunately, criminally underused. (They skipped the kidnapping attempt! HOW do you skip a princess foiling her own kidnapping attempt?!) But for the brief time Doherty is on screen, she gives a masterclass in Unimpressed Face, perfectly capturing Princess Anne’s legendarily indifferent visage. Full Story
Revisiting The Crown: Prince Charles’s Most Hangdog Faces
Netflix
In the third season of The Crown, Josh O’Connor steps in as grown-up Prince Charles. O’Connor gives a wonderful performance, capturing Charles’s awkwardness and latent vindictiveness, all while cultivating audience sympathy for Charles’s uneasy position in the family and spiky relationship with his mother. Spoilers Somehow, Watchmen keeps getting better, which should be impossible given this show’s high standard from the jump. But building off last week’s stellar episode, the latest Watchmen, “This Extraordinary Being”, ups the ante again, giving us an episode full of answers, yes, but also the strongest thematic entry into Watchmen yet. Watchmen: The truthers are right

I really only have one pressing question after the last episode of Watchmen and that is: Is Wade okay?! We’re heading into the back half of Watchmen, and things are coming together, though Wade’s fate remains unclear. Full Story
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Finale
Twitter/ Ru Paul's Drag Race UK
Yesterday (at least in Canada) was the finale for the first season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. In many ways, the finale was satisfying. We got a lot of screen time with AJ Pritchard, who is HOT AF. I saw a lot of “flooded my basement” in comments about him and honestly? Same. Also, if you’re wondering if his brother Curtis seems familiar, that’s because he was on Love Island Series 5! Love Island crossing over with Drag Race? I can die in peace now. Full Story
