Nobody Wants This. season three is now streaming on Netflix. All episodes dropped yesterday and it’s amazing to me, scanning social media, how quickly people get through these shows because I was seeing posts at, like, noon ET from people who’d finished it all in one go…on a Thursday? What am I doing wrong with my life?

Anyway, a quick refresher on Nobody Wants This. which, by the way, is still styled with that period at the end of it – a breakout hit two years ago, although it subsequently was revealed that the writers’ room was a mess in season one so they overhauled the writing team and a new showrunner came on for season two and the overall consensus last year when season two came out was that it was underwhelming.

From what I’ve seen of the reaction to season three, and keeping in mind this is just 24 hours, it seems to be an improvement on season two but not sure yet if it’s as charming as season one. I personally watched all of season one and rather quickly, so that must mean I enjoyed it, but the delight seemed to be temporary because the show did not stay with me. I don’t remember much, and didn’t end up watching season two.

It’ll be interesting then to see whether or not Nobody Wants This. can rebound and reclaim its pop culture relevance…because for a while there, it was a vibe.

Kristen Bell has been in New York this week promoting the show. And if there is something that’s been consistent about Nobody Wants This. over two seasons it’s the wardrobe. It’s a fall series, a lot of cozy pieces. And the standout for me, probably because I only watched one season, was the fair isle cardigan Joanne wore in the camp episode from season one.

That was Ralph Lauren, the exact cardigan is no longer available but RL might have an even better one this season with this wool and cashmere blend sweater with the fold-over collar. It’s expensive, but it’s gorgeous. You will note in that link that the cardigan is paired with corduroy pants because cords are the sh-t right now! I already did a whole cords post last week.

It is sweater season and there are sweaters and fair isles everywhere, at all the regular retailers. I wear a lot of sweaters on ETALK, my show rack right now is all sweaters, and so much fair isle – this is what I’ve already worn or what I will be wearing over the next few weeks, and also a couple that I’ve kept permanently.

The Veronica Beard Jessalyn Fair Isle Sweater is a keeper. I love the colour combination, how striking the red is against the black and white, and it’s soft and is exactly the right length without narrowing at the waist.

While we’re here at Veronica Beard, though, I also just bought my first ever hoodie dickey from there and I’m not sure why I waited so long? If you’re into the look of a blazer with a hoodie underneath but a hoodie is always so bulky, that’s what the hoodie dickey is for. It might be my new uniform.

Back to fair isles though…

Banana Republic’s Cashmere Fair Isle Crew-Neck Sweater is gorgeous – this colourway is like a breath of cold fresh air, crispy but also cozy. I tried it on over jeans, the same ones in the photo, and it’s timeless.

The Banana Republic Marled Wool-Cotton Fringe Sweater technically isn’t fair isle but I wore it in both colours on ETALK this week and I had to show you because that fringe sleeve is too good.

The Wool Blend Jacquard Knit Sweater at Zara is really cute too, and that price point is amazing – under $40! We’re saving this one for closer to the holidays because it’s giving December.

Even better value is the Old Navy SoSoft Oversized Crew-Neck Fair Isle Sweater  – I’m keeping this one because it’s under $30, the colours are so pretty, and the slouch on it is perfect. At that price though it will be gone really soon, like when I was checking the link to this a few hours ago and they still had full availability but now the sizes at both ends of the range are gone.

Same goes for the Old Navy x Altuzarra Fair Isle Mock-Neck Sweater – which makes sense because this collab is pretty popular and under $100 for Altuzarra is a steal.

Finally, my favourite sweater on the rack right now is not a fair isle but she’s a classic – the Barbour Ashford patchwork wool-blend sweater, it’s half plaid and half ugly Christmas sweater but somehow it comes together like a dream. We’re styling this with green cords and going full 70s.
