Anna Kendrick's 70s vibe summer crochet sweater is giving me the slightest fall buzz

Last week Deux Moi acquired the first photos of Anna Kendrick and Alex Edelman together, and this continues today’s theme of new celebrity romances to offset the round of breakups in 2025. In those shots, Anna and Alex were in the car, and PEOPLE confirmed shortly after that the two have been dating for “several months”, and that she’s met his mother.

It was several months ago that he was seen with Jessica Alba on Oscar weekend so, presumably, he and Anna picked it up when that didn’t work out? These two totally track for me. Similar sense of humour, both super smart, the gossip math adds up.

Since that first set of pictures, there have been quality pap shots of Anna and Alex, they were out in Burbank on Saturday and yesterday in Studio City, kinda sorta matching in stripes – Alex’s is more conventional and Anna’s wearing a 70s vibe summer crochet sweater that, don’t hate me, is giving me the slightest fall buzz. No, no, I’m not ready yet. So can we keep the crochet without the seasonal change?

That was my thought process here because I don’t actually have a summer crochet polo, and because of Anna I’m now thinking about. Thinking about it turned into looking for it and, surprisingly, most of what I found I actually like more than Anna’s – which is unusual because the dupes are often not as appealing as the OG.

Don’t have an ID on what, exactly, she’s wearing but the first two brands that came to mind were Missoni and Anna Kosturova. Didn’t bother with the Missoni because that’s a crazy price point but Anna Kosturova definitely has options. Like this green one has the same 70s energy of Kendrick’s but much more summer. And it comes in different colours, like this one in pink, orange, and black all together, really pretty.

Still steep though so there’s also a much more affordable Mango option even though the stripes are vertical, but the colour combination is so fresh!

Then I went on a detour with this Reiss sweater, it’s on sale, and while it’s not exactly what I was initially looking for, I do love a good cream holey sweater that you can throw over a black bra and a pair of denim shorts.

Let me show you what’s currently in the cart though – these are my two finalists. First, Kotn is a Canadian brand and this polo is gorgeous and what makes their polo superior, in my opinion, to Anna Kendrick’s is the hem: a scalloped hem. Click here to see. It’s in my cart in one size up because I don’t like my clothes clingy, but if you do, the cling is sensual with this piece.

But I can’t pull the trigger yet because…well… the most “me” crochet short sleeve shirt out there right now is this one by Casablanca. Oversize is always my speed, I f-cking love how the colours line up and zigzag, the scalloping on the sleeves and the hem, and the matching shorts, both on sale right now. Help!

What else happened today…

On the rack, I would hate this long jean dress with the lace trim. Hate. On Hannah Waddingham? It’s excellent. Because, in my opinion, her height makes all the difference. I would drown in all this denim. (Go Fug Yourself)

Kayleigh Donaldson writes about how And Just Like That … is the “Great TV Hate Watch of Our Time” and I’m still stuck on Carrie’s ridiculous hat because I actually dig it and I think I would wear it. The hat isn’t the problem, though. It’s the dress. The dress is ugly. (Pajiba)

What have I been saying about Kpop Demon Hunters? Hasn’t peaked yet and now the soundtrack is #2 on the Billboard 200. Also… Jimin and Jungkook just gave it a boost last night during their livestream and sang along to multiple songs which likely means they have it on repeat just like everyone else. (Billboard)
