Blake Lively’s movie, It Ends With Us, opens this Friday. And she announced the launch of her new haircare line. So it was always going to be a fashion parade, a runway was expected. So let’s review some of her looks from the last few days.
Blake, as we all know now because it’s never not mentioned, styles herself. Right now she appears to be hot on an NYC-based young designer, Olivia Cheng and her label, Dauphinette. Several of her outfits have been Dauphinette in the span of less than a week. Blake plays a florist in the film so the flower theme is flowering.
This dress comes with a jacket, and the jacket is the showstopper.
Here’s another Dauphinette two-piece.
And one more – a floral leather jacket with matching shorts. I don’t hate it but at the same time, it’s all kind of blending together and not quite memorably?
Probably the Dauphinette look that’s getting the most attention is this dress with the feathers. Note that Blake styled it with a belt. Personally I prefer how the designer presented it, without the belt.
There have also been other brands though. This is Blake in Elie Saab:
And a couple of Chanel moments:
And then there’s this COWBOY CARTER/It Ends With Us crossover attempt which, frankly, at least in my opinion, is kind of a flop.
My favourite of everything we’ve seen from Blake so far – and the red carpet premiere is tonight – is this pattern-clashing Christopher John Rogers look. The long black and white duster-dress over the loud pants is worn almost exactly like it was on the runway but honestly and ironically I think the hair is missing… something. Maybe if she’d done something different with it, pulled it up and back, because the way she’s wearing it doesn’t quite work with the vibe of the clothes. And again this is ironic but I feel like Blake’s hair, while beautiful, doesn’t often match the energy of the fashion.
You know what else was expected though? Just as we saw with Deadpool & Wolverine promotion and Blake jumping in on that effort, Ryan’s now coming in for It Ends With Us. This was just posted today – and it’s not only Ryan, it’s also his mother and his best friend.
Now we wait for Taylor Swift to make an appearance on this marketing campaign. She did her part for Deadpool & Wolverine, so it’s definitely coming for It Ends With Us.
