Yesterday I wrote about Jimmy Fallon’s new advertising show and his co-host is Bozoma Saint John, who was the CMO at Netflix and is currently a diamond holder on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I think a first-season Housewife should get a lot of leeway because it’s not a natural environment and they are entering the space with people who have been on for years. It’s a game they have to learn very quickly.

Boz is making it worth her time by booking other gigs and using the platform for bigger things, not just to sell vitamin gummies or present on Amazon Live. Shows aren’t greenlit overnight, so this was in play while she was filming and she timed the announcement with the end of the season. That’s where her CMO experience shows.

I saw this reposted on Jessica Alba’s Instagram (originally posted by Ana Navarro-Cárdenas) and it made me roll my eyes so f-cking hard. Telling people what they should care about is so condescending. Gossips engage in pop culture and can also be well-read and knowledgeable about current events of all kinds. It’s absolutely ridiculous to think that we can’t dunk on the space commercial and care about “bigger things.” And Lauren Sánchez and bobblehead Bezos do affect people, including people working in media at The Washington Post. Including the million-plus people who work at Amazon (which Jeff no longer runs, but is executive chair of the board). Including Jeff hoarding 197 BILLION dollars of wealth. I will never let them push her down our throats. Not on my watch!

One thing we need to remember is how desperate these people are to be liked by us, the peons. They care SO MUCH. If they didn’t care, they’d be living in obscurity, but instead she writes children’s books and makes appearances. What Lauren doesn’t understand is that there is not price tag on fame. You can’t buy being interesting to other people.

Robby Hoffman and Gabby Windey got married. I don’t know Gabby well, although I know she’s very big in the reality TV world, and I’m just getting to know Robby from Hacks. One of the best introductory episodes for a new character I’ve ever watched. (Lainey: Robby is also SO F-CKING GOOD on Dying For Sex.) I immediately loved her. And it’s such a big risk to add a third to Jimmy and Kayla’s relationship because of the chemistry, but it paid off.

Lead in the spring play dating the skipper.

“Whatever happens with the show” is an interesting way to start a caption. Clearly this isn’t about the work experience as Minka Kelly goes on to praise her coworkers. It seems like maybe this is aimed at Netflix. I really don’t understand Netflix’s budget allocation -some shows are endlessly promoted and pumped up for award season, and others get zero promotion beyond what the actors do themselves. Not every show is Bridgerton, but it does seem like some series come and go without much support.
