Yesterday, I wrote about the Cyrus family feud centering around Tish Cyrus scooping up her daughter Noah’s boyfriend. In a follow up report online, US Weekly is reporting that Tish is “spiralling” and speaking with a crisis management team. Frankly, if there’s even an ounce of truth to this, that crisis team should have been locked and loaded for when it came out. Particularly as Tish was a guest on Call Her Daddy and got into details (like their first date). If this is what we are seeing can you imagine that family group chat? Cyndi Lauper sold her music catalogue to Pophouse Entertainment, which is co-owned by ABBA’s Bjorn Ulvaeu. It’s impossible to get any real royalties from streaming, and that’s where Pophouse comes in: instead of selling her catalogue to a VC company that will just manage it, Pophouse tries to grow the value by building experiences around it. Cyndi is a Tony-winner. Her music is theatrical, this seems like a smart strategy for her.
After talking about her use of weight loss drugs, Oprah and WeightWatchers are waving goodbye to each other. This isn’t that surprising, but considering it was a 10-year relationship, I’m so interested in the contract details not because of the public-facing relationship, but because Oprah owns a “significant share” of WW stock, which she is donating to the National Museum of African American History and Culture. But, the shares are cratering (and not just because of her exit). It’s the Ozempic of it all, a threat to the entire diet industry (that doesn’t use the word diet anymore). Some may see this as sweet justice for an industry that can be seen as exploiting women’s bodies. Others are concerned about the long-term effects of taking medication for weight-loss and the impact on overall health (like bone density and nutrition).

I have said many times I am rooting for the Biebers and agree with Lainey’s assessment – this is not the first time a pastor close to them has publicly spoken about them and their fame. The Pastor Posse used to talk about Justin’s relationship with his mother publicly! But obviously, any mention of them immediately goes sideways. Maybe this is way too conspiratorial, but the news about Hailey’s sister Alaia being arrested last Saturday for allegedly throwing a USED tampon at bar staff? Interesting timing for her dad to post about them.
