I got excited when I saw this Architectural Digest headline about Winona Ryder’s homes, thinking we might get a tour. No, it’s just a list of places she’s bought and sold over the years which is still an interesting mix. 

 

No McMansions and modern farm houses in Brentwood, obviously. 

 

If you love reading about media as much as I do, today is an embarrassment of riches with the news that political reporter Olivia Nuzzi and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. allegedly engaged in an inappropriate relationship after she profiled him. Apparently, it was an emotional affair (“digital”) and she self-reported to New York Magazine, who put her on leave. His rep is saying they only met once in person. So how does this play into celebrity culture? Well, first of all, the Kennedys. Second, he’s married to Cheryl Hines. I don’t think this will be the end of them: if you stand by your man as he becomes the face of the anti-vaxxer movement, I don’t know if a few sexts will sink the marriage.

 

Speaking of inside media, my thoughts on the ex-girlfriends of Dave Grohl coming out to say they suspected he was a cheater? I’m lukewarm on that because he’s been married for 20+ years, so these relationships are pretty ancient. And if this is the hook for stories, it tells me they’ve got nothing new. 

 

A reader sent me this great TikTok of @christinap summing up why this story has stung so many. And she puts forward an opinion that is controversial: Leonardo DiCaprio is more honest than Dave Grohl. I get what she is saying. Leo isn’t pretending to be a family man, he is unabashed with his choices. We have no idea how any of these men treat the women in their personal lives but on its face, NOT having an affair child is better than having an affair child. He’s not keeping a wife at home while he galavants. I’ve also noticed that several of Leo’s exes quickly move on and get married and have families. This is a total guess, but I don’t think Leo is a heartbreaker or “the one who got away.” He doesn’t stick. In the practical side, he’s good for a few really nice vacations and a lot of access to wealth. (Thanks, Melba!)

Yesterday Lainey yelled at me because I guessed Jeremy Allen White for Sexiest Man Alive and she said Glen Powell is right there. She is correct and it will probably be him but I cannot keep this man in my brain for more than 10 seconds. He’s good at what he does and I appreciate his gameness when promoting a film but he’s safe and that’s not my flavour of movie star. Great for SMA.

 

A Queen Latifah biopic is in the works with Will Smith producing. In a statement about the project, she said, “It is a dream to be able to collaborate with friends and colleagues that have not only a shared understanding but are able to tell these stories that were the backdrop of our lives.” She and Will and Jada go way back and Will Smith knows how to make a biopic. All the elements are here. And this brings me to Girls Trip, which has a sequel in the works. But when?
