Since Karl Lagerfeld is the theme of the Met Gala tonight, obviously Chanel is going to have a big presence. Karl didn’t just design with Chanel – Fendi, Chloe, Balmain, his own label, are other brands with Karl affiliation – but he is of course best known in the culture for his work with Chanel. Which is why Chanel is bringing in as many of the house’s ambassadors as they can.
Penelope Cruz is one of the co-chairs, as mentioned earlier, and Margot Robbie, apparently the last muse that Karl selected to represent Chanel, was seen arriving in NYC the other day.
Can’t imagine she’ll be in anything but Chanel… which… I mean it’s not just me, the culture in general has been underwhelmed by Margot in Chanel. That said, Margot recently changed stylists. She’s now working with Andrew Mukamal so even though she’s still with Chanel, we may see a shift. Andrew is credited with her look at CinemaCon last week…
…but, um, that wasn’t Chanel. Very interested to see what we’ll get tonight for the Met Gala.
If we’re talking about Chanel ambassadors though, you can’t go wrong, in my opinion, with Kristen Stewart and Jennie. KStew was seen at LAX this weekend heading, presumably, to New York.
And Jennie was photographed last night in New York, fresh off BLACKPINK’s two shows in Mexico City last week. This will be Jennie’s first Met Gala – I can’t wait to see this debut.
