Charlize’s Main Course

Ordinarily we would have saved these shots of Charlize Theron at the premiere of The Old Guard 2 for Sarah’s review but I kind of, with permission, stepped on her and I’m posting them anyway because this outfit is too f-cking good. 

I’ve already talked about Charlize’s press tour wardrobe this week and especially those McQueen booties which, yes, I bought them on a GREAT deal at Holt Renfrew (that’s an affiliate link). I will not, however, be buying any part of her premiere look because even if I could find it I couldn’t afford it and also I’m a stumpy troll, the clothes would reject being on my body. 

Still. She is crazy for this, as the kids say. It’s so good it’s demented. And it’s not just about the clothes but how they’re making her feel. Charlize is working it on that carpet.

The fishnet catsuit is, obviously, sickening. But it’s amazing not just for the titillation. I love that it’s a turtleneck and what makes it that much more special with the white Givenchy stitched across the chest. Stitching into fishnet can look janky – but there is no jank happening here. The stitching looks expensive AF, first class artistry. 

Perfect blazer choice too, with the lapels going wide and pointed up, kinda like bat ears and the sleeves pulled up to show more fishnet. And I really like the proportion of the under garments, a sports bra and high waisted full bottoms which, hilariously, if this were swimwear, would qualify in the “more coverage” category. 

Finally, those boots. Exactly the right height on her calf. Again it’s the proportion and, sure, fully aware that Charlize is tall and lean so she probably has to worry about proportion less than most but still, any higher on the leg and it would have been too much leather, but any lower would take away from the masculinity of the fit – because while this look is sexy, it’s also not delicate. She will still f-cking kick your ass. 

Oh, wait, still not done even though I already said “finally” because the hair! A mini half part into a half pony into a low pony. For the girls with bobs – this is how you pony! 

Big ups to Charlize’s longtime stylist Leslie Fremar, she bodied this.
