Chloë Grace Moretz: Holidays, makeup, and jeans
So many celebrities have launched or are launching their own beauty brands and by now, I know, it’s almost at the point of oversaturation, or maybe it’s already oversaturated. Here’s why Chloë Grace Moretz’s might be an outlier in the celebrity beauty game: she and Rina Sawayama, my IDOL, have partnered to cofound GODMODE, a beauty brand specifically marketed towards gamers.
This is makeup for cosplay…
…but you can also downplay if that’s more your vibe. Like, my personal makeup style is pretty simple, no contouring, no powder, no big swings really on the eyelid but, I do like a shimmer, a light sheer layer of sparkle that’s subtle and now I’m so curious about this lip gloss with the blue sparkle.
All of this is very new – all the products on the website are listed as “coming soon” which means they couldn’t take advantage of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. But, like I said, the concept sets itself apart from other celebrity beauty brands so I’m interested in where they’re taking this in terms of marketing. For example CCXP is happening this coming week in São Paulo, will GODMODE have a presence there?
In other Chloë news, she’s currently also promoting Oh. What. Fun., a new family holiday movie starring Michelle Pfeiffer as a woman who quits her ungrateful family at Christmas and goes to compete for the Mom Award on a daytime talk show. Sorta kinda like Home Alone but reversed. The ensemble here is impressive – Joan Chen is in this! – and I will always be seated for Michelle Pfeiffer in a comedy. The movie comes out this Wednesday on Prime. Trailer is here.
Back to Chloë, remember when she dated Brooklyn Beckham? No? She doesn’t either. At the time though, when he was barely 18, I heard he wanted to marry her and she was like… um, no, we’re babies. Chloë is now 28 and married Kate Harrison this year. This couple is hot AF.
Here’s Chloë today in a cute white crop jacket in New York promoting the movie and the other day in a Louis Vuitton denim set for Late Night with Seth Meyers.
This is my denim segue to remind you that it’s Cyber Monday and if you’re looking for denim… well… there’s one brand for denim that I’ve talked about incessantly over the last few months: Gap. So I’m going to affiliate link again because everyone else is doing it and your girl is an independent online publisher trying not to go extinct.
Remember this denim bomber? It’s now half off, and most sizes are available. That is an excellent price for a bomber that will never not be in style, you’ll wear it forever.
This denim peplum isn’t quite as versatile but it’s still pretty durable in terms of quality and trend. I know because I’ve worn it – and it works over trousers and a tutu, at any length, and also culottes and I’ve also seen a girl do it over workout leggings, it was a vibe.
Here’s a denim jacket that I haven’t mentioned until now because I’ve been eyeing it for exactly this moment, waiting for it to go on sale, and it finally has. A denim crop trench – look at her! She is amazing! I will be wearing this every day from April to October. And from $218 to $87 is deal.
Here’s a plaid jacket I tried to buy but f-ck it doesn’t come in adult size. This is for children and I don’t have any, but if you do, and or if you’re looking for a coat to gift a child, I just want someone to buy this because it’s adorable and it’s $35 right now and whyyyyyyy can’t this be produced for grownups?
This is a sweater for grownups that could also work for a kid and I’ve been stalking it and now it’s 50% off. It’s a fair isle with hearts and dots and vintage energy and I know I’ll wear it for years.
There’s another fair isle option in a turtleneck in light brown that I’ve also been sitting on for weeks waiting for the sales to come and I f-cking forgot to put it in my cart before I checked out so now I can’t get it because I feel bad about a separate order and packaging etc. Which means one more is out there – although lots of sizes are available now. Seriously $55 is very reasonable for this sweater that looks like it could be designer.
Please note, the above are affiliate links. Shop away!

Lorde’s comments about That Scene in The White Lotus season three are going viral which, as Justine Lupe says, is exactly what Mike White always wanted. Even he would say he loves to troll. Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson are still going strong. She cooked Thanksgiving dinner for his family and I trust her taste in food. Unlike, um, Ariana Grande. This is what I meant when I posted about that NYT Cooking video last week. The joy is missing! (Celebitchy)
