Holiday parties every night now. Last night in London Gemma Chan was at the Annabel’s x Swarovski Holiday façade unveiling party. Gemma’s in a holiday colour, with a twist in the shade of green. This is not standard holiday green. It’s Grinch green, and the Grinch is a Christmas character, so we’re definitely on theme here.

But this is not an easy green. I mean, it is for Gemma because, well, it’s Gemma. But in combination with this material, and the cut of this dress, there’s a high degree of difficulty happening here. Look at the 80s prom vibes happening with this look, right? And, again, Grinch green all bunched up and shiny like this, not everyone can pull this off.

Gemma, though, as you can see, is going all the way. Not just with the outfit and the accessories, but also the makeup. The dress is already so bold in colour and style and then she’s amping it up with the eye makeup, dramatic and also green-silver toned and bright, and usually it’s a neutral-ish lip when the eye is so bold but she still popped some colour on the lips. Personally it’s not my favourite combination but I appreciate that she and her style team are trying things, keeping it interesting. It’s been weeks and weeks of fashion and makeup and looks for Gemma with the release of Eternals. When you’re getting dressed up and styled every day, it’s fun and fresh to go out of the boundaries once in a while. Better this than boring and safe.

Also… note the handbag, it’s a bottle.
