Andrew Garfield and Monica Barbaro were at Wimbledon together this weekend and some people are calling it a hard launch which... I mean, I guess, because it’s the first time they’ve appeared at a major event together and have been photographed. But this kinda lacks the impact of a true hard launch because there’s no element of surprise.

We’ve known about this relationship for about six months now, dating back to award season. They were then seen in Japan on holiday together, and while Monica went to the Met Gala on her own, they were both in New York together that week and he waited for her at the end of the night. Also there were those photos of them on the beach together with her dog in Malibu. So is the hard launch hitting that hard?

Not that I’m complaining, of course not, I love them, they’re gorgeous together. And they’re cute in their matching Wimbledon whites, although I don’t love the fit of her dress. This is Ralph Lauren but it doesn’t look expensive. He, on the other hand, is delicious with his hair grown out a bit, the scruff, and the tan, yum.

In other related news, Andrew and Monica are personally involved, and they’re about to take it to the professional level. It was reported last month that they were in talks to co-star in Luca Guadagnino’s upcoming film, Artificial. Word is it’s about Sam Altman and OpenAI (ugh) and the hope was to start shooting soon, perhaps as soon as this month for two months until September.

This would be Andrew’s second film in a row with Luca after After the Hunt, with Julia Roberts and Ayo Edebiri, rumoured to be premiering at the Venice Film Festival at the end of the summer ahead of its October release and, perhaps, an award season run.
