Joey King is currently promoting The Kissing Booth 3 which premieres on Netflix today which means I’m watching it this weekend. When the first Kissing Booth movie came out in 2018, it became one of the most successful titles on Netflix that year. At the time, Netflix head Ted Sarandos said it was “one of the most watched movies in the country, and maybe the world” with a re-watch rate of one in three viewers. Pretty sure the second one didn’t see quite the same popularity and, let’s be honest, both movies were… not great. And that’s why I’m waiting until the weekend to watch and not doing it immediately. But still, it’s a high school to college story. This is my kryptonite.

Anyway, here’s Joey at press day for the movie yesterday in LA and this outfit…

I love the dress, I love the collar, I love the pattern, the gloves, the boots, the colours, all of it. Because, well, I love the Clown Trend. Have you heard about this?

A couple of weeks ago, Vogue featured the Clown Trend, noting that the circus and clown theme has been showing up consistently on the runway. The wearable version of it is shown here on Joey, with the diamond pattern. But there are some pieces that are more extreme.

Like the clown collar we saw on Emma Corrin for the Golden Globes:

Probably a lot more polarising right? As I said at the time, I’m obsessed. I would totally wear this. And it might even be a little tame for me. Because my dream Clown Trend look is this one:

And you can take the clown on the street too. Check out this hoodie dress at Red Valentino:

So good, right?

Clowns for fall 2021. You in?
