When you’re a supermodel, you even grow grey like it’s a photo shoot. Check out Paulina Porizkova at The Drew Barrymore Show today with the most perfect grey blowout. Maybe the grey was uneven at one point for Paulina, it’s possible, but she could probably make that work too.
This is what I’ve heard is one of the biggest frustrations about letting the grey come in – it’s not like it all happens at once, overnight. There are stages. Personally I haven’t had to take action on this yet, but that day comes for everyone and I do wonder sometimes how mine will change and at what rate and what the options will be. I’m leaning towards a really sharp silver with an undercurrent of, like, almost purple, and there’s definitely a strong hint of silver in Paulina’s. Here’s a video I watched a couple of months ago, suited to me because this is an Asian woman, scrub from beginning to end to see the before and after. SO good, right? Can you see the purple when it hits a certain light?
As for Paulina, it’s the colour but also the perfectly soft volume in her hair. This is why rollers will never be obsolete.
What else happened today…
I thought my eyes were bugging when I saw a few headlines about Planet Hollywood opening in New York, what? It is not 1991, we are definitely in 2025 but last night in NYC, a new Planet Hollywood did indeed open its doors for a celebrity party where Arnold Schwarzenegger showed up with his son, Patrick aka Saxon from The White Lotus aka the sickest grossest motherf-cker on television right now. Also Whoopi Goldberg, 50 Cent, and Alec Baldwin. The youngest person I’ve seen there is Pete Davidson. Are people actually going to go to this place? It’s in Times Square. (Vibe)
Even if you’re not a fan of John Mulaney and Olivia Munn (I like them together, sorry) you have to admit it was pretty cool who they were able to get as their wedding officiant. (Pajiba)
Cate Blanchett is promoting a new movie co-starring Michael Fassbender and she showed up for the London premiere in a great dress, I’m so into it, but my problem is the boots. I don’t love the boots. (Go Fug Yourself)
I saw Mickey 17 on the weekend, loved it. The production design alone is worth the price of admission, the kind of movie that reveals itself more and more with every viewing. Sarah reviewed it the other day and now here’s Kathleen’s interview with Naomi Ackie who plays Nasha, Mickey’s love interest, about what it was like working with Bong Joon-ho, immersing herself in that world, and – because Kathleen asks the important questions – how her character maintained her hair in space!
