Pedro Pascal’s Disney Year

The Mandalorian and Grogu opens one week from today. The Devil Wears Prada 2 already kicked off summer movie season with a roar, now it’s up to Pedro Pascal and Baby Yoda to keep the train rolling. Pedro Pascal was in Los Angeles yesterday for the Los Angeles premiere of the film.

Sigourney Weaver was also there, in an embellished suit and once again rocking that slicked back faux hawk kinda looking hairdo she’s worn on several red carpets for this film. I guess she and her glam squad have decided this is The Look for this sci-fi project.

There was also a mini Top Gun: Maverick reunion, as both Greg Tarzan Davis and Manny Jacinto showed up. Jacinto, of course, is also in the Star Wars universe by way of The Acolyte. That project did not go well for anyone, but Jacinto is REALLY good in it. He’s doing top tier bicep acting for sure, but he’s also giving a great performance all around. I wish we could have seen a second season, just to continue his character’s development.

He was potentially going to lead into the Knights of Ren, referenced in the sequel trilogy, and just like I think Star Wars needs to get away from Jedi, they need to get away from the Sith, too. I would be into exploring other types of Force-using bad guys. But nothing gold can stay, and nowhere is that truer than Star Wars, where fanboys reject anything new and interesting. You know who isn’t present at the premiere? Jeremy Allen White, who voices a new Hutt character. He has done no press for this movie. I thought he would at least show up for the LA event, but nope. You know what? Good for him. Get that Disney money without having to do one of their press tours.

Pedro Pascal, however, still has a whole other Disney press gamut to run later this year with Avengers: Doomsday. 2026 is Pedro Pascal’s Disney Year, and it is just getting started.
