Taylor Russell has never been to the Met Gala. So she is near the top of my highly anticipated list tonight during arrivals. Pretty sure I don’t have to explain why, given all the serves she’s delivered since breaking out during the press tour for Bones and All a couple of years ago.
Shortly afterwards, Loewe made her an ambassador, and since Jonathan Anderson and Loewe are co-chairing tonight’s event, it’s not surprising to see her in New York ready to make her Met Gala in debut. Loewe is not Erdem, and hopefully the Loewe we’ll see on the red steps is not just flowers and princesses. Hopefully we’ll see Taylor and Greta Lee, another Loewe ambassador, side by side in something eclectic and inspired. Taylor’s drip this weekend as she arrived to her hotel in NYC is a good start. This trench coat alone. It’s The Row, an investment for sure, but it’ll be stylish forever and ever.
While Taylor’s about to go to her first Met Gala, Sydney Sweeney’s on her way to her third. She was photographed multiple times in multiple good fits this weekend, starting in Mexico City where she was promoting Immaculate in Miu Miu. A black side-cuts dress with leather gloves.
More Miu Miu and this mid-2000s denim throwback:
Followed by denim McQueen:
My favourite of her weekend looks though is back to Miu Miu. Why? Because it’s tennis core and tennis core is and always has been my always core:
There’s a lot of Miu Miu here because Sydney is an ambassador. She was in Miu Miu last year at the Met Gala and I can’t imagine she’d be in anything else for the party this year.
