Dear Gossips,

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before… in Korea!

It’s been over two years since Netflix released To All The Boys: Always and Forever, the final movie in the Lara Jean Universe but now it’s Kitty’s turn.

XO Kitty premieres on May 18, and this time it’s not a movie but a ten-episode series about Kitty, now 16, who decides to study in Korea so she can be closer to Dae, the boy she met at the end of Always and Forever:

I am always and forever ready for a teen rom-com. I am always and forever for a teen rom-com that might be playing out like a Korean drama. Because k-dramas are also my kink so this is basically the best of all worlds. And it looks like we’re being set up for another team situation because Kitty, as we learn in the trailer, will have OPTIONS. Like if it’s not going to be Dae…

Who will we be rooting for? And are we actually going to find out this season?

XO Kitty is the first Netflix series to be spun-off from a Netflix movie. Given the popularity of TATBILB, I can’t imagine they’ll want to one-and-done Kitty’s story. It didn’t work that way with LJ so why wouldn’t we follow Kitty all the way through to graduation too, with a school season for every television season?

Speaking of graduation…

Devi Vishwakumar is graduating this season. Never Have I Ever premieres on Netflix on June 8. So basically once we’re done processing whatever Kitty is up to in Korea, we get to finish off with Devi’s finale a few weeks later. Let the teens take us into summer.

Yours in gossip,

Lainey
