Timothee Chalamet continues to promote The King all over the world. And continues to drop fashion porn all over the world. There have been several great outfits this week, one after the other, all of them worn with his signature steeze = style with ease. That’s him, right? Nothing ever looks forced. And all of it is shareable. Meaning I would want to borrow from his closet. Let’s begin with this look in Busan a couple of days ago:
That grey with the pink belt is so good. And the shirt tucked half, just so, is so good. Also, always, the way his pants fit. And his hair. And how he loves looking great in his clothes, how his clothes dictate his pose, all of it makes me want to thank him, thank him for enjoying fashion this much.
Next, get ready for it.
STOP IT.
This is a throwback to early 2000s boy band, thing NSYNC but, obviously, with 2019 style sensibility. I always love a paint splatter print. I love same print on print. I love a platform sneaker – and what’s great too about this is that he’s dressing for his audience. This look very much captures a K-fashion vibe. And he doesn’t look like a douchebag. Which is not easy.
Staying in Busan, how about this look, yesterday, at the press conference?
It’s the small details. Like how the sleeves are rolled up to the perfect spot on his arm. I wonder if the t-shirt actually comes like that. There’s a little Harry Styles action happening with this look – except when Harry, his clothes can sometimes seem like a costume, like he’s imitating an era rather than just living in what’s now. That’s not happening here with Timmy. There’s no doubt he’s in the present and that this is his own aesthetic.
Finally…today in Australia:
COME. ON.
You know this is good, I don’t have to spell out all the reasons. The most important reason that Timmy wears everything so well though is attitude. There’s no apology. There’s no sheepishness. He just loves clothes and he loves being seen in them and none of that is embarrassing to him. You know who could work on this, who also happens to be in The King? Robert Pattinson. Robert Pattinson actually looks great in avant-garde clothing. He just can’t figure out how to wear the clothes without feeling like he has to apologise for it.
