The big royal wedding headline yesterday was about who hasn’t been invited – no world leaders which, most notably, includes the Obamas and this was disappointing because Prince Harry and the Obamas have shown great affection for each other over the years. But, evidently, Harry and Meghan do not want to politicise their wedding, understandably. Still, while we know that there will be no dignitaries at the event, there’s still the question of celebrities. Like Priyanka Chopra for sure, right? And several cast members from Suits. And… what about Serena Williams?
The biggest mystery about the wedding, as always, is the dress. The bookies’ favourites are apparently Ralph & Russo (which Meghan wore for the engagement portraits) and Erdem (who she’s been wearing for years). British fashion designer Henry Holland, however, doesn’t think it’ll be Erdem because the label is too closely associated with Princess Kate. He said on the Wedding Extraordinaire podcast this week that it’s definitely not Giles Deacon but wish-predicted that it could be Christopher Bailey for Burberry, his “final bow” for the house as he’s stepping down after 17 years and Riccardo Tisci (formerly of Givenchy) is coming in. Meghan has been seen a few times lately in Burberry. A British designer and Britain’s most recognisable luxury brand… it would make sense, right? Will it be Burberry? What do you predict?
Here’s Harry today at the Walk Of America launch in London in support of Walking With The Wounded. Six veterans from the UK and the US will walk 1,000 miles this summer across the United States starting in Los Angeles and ending in New York. It’s expected that Harry, who is a patron of the expedition, will meet them at some point on their journey and some believe this will be Harry and Meghan’s first overseas trip after they marry, especially since Meghan was born in LA. If that’s the case, and if it is to be LA, that would give them less than two weeks to honeymoon before getting back to work.
